Full Time Race Program
The Full-Time Race Program provides the 8-12 year old racer (J4-J5) five days of training and the 13-19 year old racer (J1-J3) six days of training with professional US Ski Association certified coaches.
There is a minimum skill level for acceptance in the Full-Time Program. Skills of Full-Time Race Team applicants will be evaluated by the coaches for placement in the program.
The season runs from approximately mid-November to mid-April. The focus of the training is based upon the FarWest Skiing / United States Ski Association (USSA) race calendar. Races are held primarily in Southern California for the 8-12 year olds and across California and Nevada for the 13-19 year olds. Racers that excel have the opportunity to qualify for regional and national events.
The races in which each athlete will compete are selected on an individual basis, and are determined by the athlete’s level of preparation and his pre-season plan.
Race team members provide their own equipment. They receive a uniform for a nominal rental fee and clubhouse privileges which include lockers and equipment storage. Full-time members receive an anytime pass with their membership. The pass also provides them a 20% discount on food at the resort.
Parents of Full Time Race team members are allowed to work off a portion of race fees through race work and fundraising. Please contact the Membership Chairperson for details. 2008-2009 Race Team Fees listed under Membership.
